Terms of Service

1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Bisrat Shibeshi, who runs OneCV (“we”, “us”). They cover onecv.work, app.onecv.work and everything you can do on them (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use OneCV.

2. Who can use OneCV

You must be at least 16 years old to use OneCV. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian has read and agreed to these terms with you.

3. Your account

• Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current so we can reach you.
• Keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

4. Your content

You own the resumes, cover letters, job entries, photos and everything else you add to OneCV. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display that content only as needed to run the Service for you, for example to save it, sync it across your devices and turn it into PDFs. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the short backup period described in the Privacy Policy.

You’re responsible for your content. Make sure it’s accurate and that you have the right to use anything you upload, such as photos. We don’t review your documents, but we may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

5. Acceptable use

When you use OneCV, don’t:

• break the law, or help anyone else break it,
• upload content that you don’t have the right to use, or that infringes someone else’s rights,
• create documents that impersonate another person or forge credentials,
• access other people’s accounts or data, probe or attack the Service, or get around its security or limits,
• use bots, scrapers or other automated tools on the Service beyond normal use of the app, or
• resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.

6. Our service and brand

The OneCV software, websites, name and logo belong to us or to the people who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. Documents you create with OneCV are yours to use however you like, including in job applications and for commercial purposes.

7. Free and paid plans

OneCV is free to use today, and Pro isn’t on sale yet. Before we charge for anything, we’ll add prices, billing, renewal, cancellation and refund terms here and tell account holders by email. Payments will be handled by Polar as the merchant of record, so Polar’s terms will also apply to purchases.

8. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep OneCV running, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We may add, change or remove features over time. If we decide to shut OneCV down, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email so you can download your documents.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using OneCV and delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the Service or other users at risk, or exposes us to legal liability. We’ll tell you why, unless the law or a security concern prevents it.

When an account is closed, its data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes. The sections on your content, our service, disclaimers, liability and governing law keep applying after that.

10. Disclaimers

OneCV is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that it will be error-free or always available. We can’t promise any result from using it, such as an interview or a job offer, or how a particular employer or applicant tracking system will read your resume. Keep your own copies of important documents, for example by downloading them as PDFs.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Third-party services

OneCV works with services run by other companies, such as Google sign-in, and it may link to other websites. Their own terms apply to those services, and we aren’t responsible for them.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we’ll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using OneCV after that, you accept the new terms. If you don’t accept them, delete your account before they take effect.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the courts of Addis Ababa have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to settle the issue together within 30 days.

If you use OneCV as a consumer, you keep any protections that the law of your country of residence gives you and that a contract can’t take away.

15. General

• These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about OneCV.
• If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we haven’t given it up.
• You can’t transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours to a company or person that takes over running OneCV, such as a company we set up for it, and we’ll tell you if we do.
